A New Idea

I'm thinking of a new feature in my LJ, Bruce's OTR Show of the Week. I'd post one old-time radio program every Saturday morning, and link to it here in my LJ, where I'd talk a little about the show and why it's special to me. I'll send up a test balloon tomorrow. In the meantime, what do you think of this idea?

Do you think this is a good idea?

I think it's great, and I plan to listen all the time.

Something I Don't Do Every Day

In a sense, today's a scary day. I'll be doing something I've never done
before. In a move reminiscent of that US governor, though hopefully much
less contraversial, I'll be putting my credit card down on the counter
and getting just about six grand charged to it. I know for some of you
that kind of money is nothing, but to me it represents years and years
of saving and denying myself some of the things I've wanted.

That's right, today I get my hearing aids. I have to pay up front, but
they do come with a 45-day trial period. But it's scary. I still
remember being a kid and my dad trying to teach me the value of a
dollar, let alone six thousand of them. But today's the day.

Profuse Apology

Every now and then you do something horrible, and the more people mention it, the worse you feel. It's hard to come to a public forum like this and apologize for everyone to see. You have to admit what you've done, there's no denying it later, it basically means your life, or at least that part of it, is an open book.

Yet sometimes, that public humiliation is the only real way to attone for a transgression of this magnitude. I don't know how many people have been affected by what I did, but I do know that no one who was should be excluded. I've done what I did, I can't undo it. If you were hurt by my actions or inactions, all I can say is that I am truly sorry. You are my friends, my friends deserve the best for me. Whether kittytech can see her way to forgive me, to again be able to utter my name without tears, I'll be grateful. I have to make up for what I did, and an apology here, while it won't erase the past, I hope it is viewed as a start. So here goes. Yes, I forgot to mention cheese as a popcorn flavor. I'm sorry, okay?
