The B-Side Themselves Special on Toews on the Waves

This week on Toews on the Waves, we're going to waive all of our usual
features in favor of a two-hour special saluting the B-side. It's our
B-Side Themselves Special, and it promises to be very informative, not to
mention entertaining.

We'll start with a brief history of sound recording, culminating in the
1904 introduction of the double-sided record, an innovation which made the
B-side possible. We'll then move on to a whole range of B-side hits, songs
that made good despite being originally intended as B-sides. We'll also
play several of the A-side that went with these hit B-sides. We'll tell
some of the stories behind the songs, and maybe even surprise you with a
little musical history of which you might not have been aware.

We'll digress for a while at the beginning of our second hour, and look at
some of the more creative uses of the B-side. It should put a smile on
your face. Then we'll round off the program with another whole slew of
B-sides that charted. The result will be a mixture of history, humor, and
a fabulous array of fantastic oldies that you won't want to miss.

I really hope you can join me for this very special presentation on The
Legend as part of our extremely special Sunday lineup, right after The
Mosen Explosion with the fabulous Father's Day expert, Jonathan Mosen. And
while we're talking about that Sunday lineup, I would like to welcome
Terry Clasper to The Legend as well. Like Brian Hartgen's Music Machine,
Terry's Sixties and Seventies Sunday show originates from the UK, and I'm
really looking forward to listening. You can hear Terry starting at 12:00
PM Eastern, right after DJ Doug and the Soul Express. Welcome to the
group, Terry!

So I'll be waiting to see you tonight at seven for Toews on the Waves, on
the Worldwide Legend!

Toews on the Waves can be heard Sunday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Eastern, or 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Central, 5-7 PM Mountain, or 4-6 PM Pacific. To listen, direct your browser to Click on The Legend, and then choose your favorite media player.
